Jars of Clay

Today, after classes and newspaper work, I decided to tackle some housecleaning. Floors, bathroom, mirrors- all have suffered lately due to my hectic life. (I'm proud to say that right now they sparkle!). I'm definitely a person that has to listen to music while they're doing something (expect reading- I need complete silence for that). Nothing good was on the radio and my regular CD collection has been getting boring, so I decided to rummage around in my older CD's to find something. I ended up putting on an old "Jars of Clay" album that I bought when I around twelve. Billy Graham came to Ottawa and I went with my friend Melanie. Michael W. Smith and Jars of Clay performed and we ended up buying both CD's.
I did my daily readings after cleaning, and I decided to look up the verse that Jars Of Clay got their name from:

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us".
- 2 Corinthians 4:7

That made me think of another verse concerning clay:

"Yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand".
- Isaiah 64:8

For something as simply and mundane as clay, it certainly creates some interesting analogies!

In His Love-

I love how you take an ordinary, everyday event and derive a biblical phrase from it. Sort of like those MorphWord puzzles where you take a word and convert it into another word by changing a letter in a few short steps.
Have an outstanding day tomorrow.

Dear Lauren-Mary..
I have just gone down the list of people on my blog who are so kindly praying for Betty and now this is the last letter before I go to bed! I have to get up really early as they will be taking Betty to Hamilton tomorrow at 830 am.
When I saw Betty tonight, she was feeling a little better. She asked me, "What have you been doing today?" She wondered why I hadn't visited her, so I exclaimed that in intensive care, she was only allowed two visitors at a time and for only short 5 minute visits, so I decided that her daughter, Rachel and her husband, John should have that privilege.
Although Betty was feeling a little better she is showing a little fear, now about going for the angiogram. Betty is a nurse,so she knows about the dangers of the test.
I am sure at the time that the Lord will give her the comfort she needs.
After all Lauren-Mary, there are so many people praying for her, including you for which I am very thankful..Love Terry

I am going with Rachel tomorrow to Hamilton, so we will be with Betty...
